What is AI Policy Lab?

The AI Policy Lab is a structured workshop and gamified policy co-creation activity designed to bring together representatives from marginalized sectors, AI practitioners, and policy stakeholders to discuss how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be used responsibly and inclusively in public service and governance.

Participants will:

Gain foundational AI literacy relevant to governance and public service

Contribute lived experiences to policy discussions

Participate in inclusive and gamified policy deliberation activities

Help co-create AI policy recommendations for government consideration

No. The workshop is designed to be accessible and beginner-friendly. Participants are not required to have technical expertise or an academic background in AI. Lived experiences and sector perspectives are highly valued.

The activity follows the principle of “Nothing About Us Without Us.”

Sessions are designed using:

Oral and visual learning approaches

Dialect-friendly communication formats

Participatory and gamified workshop methods

Inclusive facilitation for diverse participant backgrounds

The workshop will produce a Policy Canvas, consolidating insights and recommendations generated during collaborative activities. These outputs may be submitted to relevant government agencies and policymakers.
