Activity Summary

SineAI is a showcase of short films created using a range of AI tools, highlighting how emerging technologies are reshaping the creative process. It is supported by two pre-event activities: the SineAI Talks and the SineAI Workshop. These activities are designed to spark dialogue, build skills, and encourage the responsible use of AI in the creative industry.

The SineAI Talks is a gathering that brings together stakeholders from the creative community, including independent, professional, and student filmmakers, film enthusiasts, animators, and artists. The session provides a space to exchange ideas and explore the evolving landscape, key issues, emerging trends, and the impact of AI in the creative industry.

The SineAI Workshops are a series of hands-on sessions focused on the ethical and creative use of AI in filmmaking. Ten teams will participate in guided learning sessions that introduce practical AI tools and techniques for storytelling and production.

The short films produced by the participating teams will be showcased to the public and evaluated on August 3, 2026, in a local cinema. The winning entries of the 2026 AI Fest SineAI will be announced and awarded during the 2026 AI Fest Closing Ceremonies on August 5, 2026.

SineAI Talks :

1. Interested stakeholders from the local filmmaking and creative community will be invited to participate in the SineAI Talks. Invitations will be sent to independent filmmakers, student filmmakers, film educators, animators, digital artists, production studios, creative organizations, and film enthusiasts. Registration will remain open until the target number of participants is reached (maximum of 30).

2. From the confirmed participants, the organizing committee will organize attendees into small discussion groups to ensure balanced representation from the different sectors of the creative industry.

3. The SineAI Talks will be conducted in July 2026 (specific date and venue to be announced) as a pre-event activity of the AI Fest 2026.

4. The session will begin with an overview of AI Fest and SineAI, followed by a short scene-setting talk to provide participants with a shared understanding of how artificial intelligence is currently being used in filmmaking and creative production.

5. Participants will then take part in a series of facilitated group discussions focusing on three (3) key topics:

a. AI as a Creative Partner: Opportunities for Creators

b. Concerns, Ethics, and Creative Ownership

c. Building the Regional AI Creative Ecosystem

6. Participants will be grouped into small tables, each guided by a facilitator and supported by a documenter who will capture key insights, ideas, and recommendations.

7. After the group discussions, representatives from each group will present their key points during a plenary synthesis session. The facilitator will consolidate the major insights, opportunities, concerns, and recommended next steps identified during the discussions.

8. The session will conclude with the announcement of the SineAI film showcase and workshops, including the call for film submissions and participation in the upcoming AI Fest activities.

9. All discussion outputs will be consolidated into a post-event report to guide the development of SineAI Workshops, strengthen partnerships, and inform future initiatives supporting the creative AI ecosystem.

SineAI Workshops :

1. Interested applicants must submit their applications and proposed film concepts by June 26, 2026. From the submissions received, the panel of evaluators will select 10 teams (5 teams per category) based on the criteria set by the organizers.

2. The selected teams will attend the SineAI Workshop scheduled on July 15-17, 2026, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm in Iloilo City (specific venue to be announced).

3. The workshop will cover topics in the pre-production and production stages of filmmaking. Based on the concept proposals submitted, the teams will produce one (1) short film with a 5-30-minute running time.

4. Each team will bring and use their preferred equipment and software during the workshops.

5. Mentors will also be assigned for the participating teams to assist during the workshops.

6. The final outputs should be submitted to the organizing committee on/or before July 24, 2026. These short films will be screened at a local cinema (specific venue to be announced) on August 3, 2026, and will be made available for public viewing on the AI Fest website (www.aifest.ph) from August 3, 2026 onwards.

7. All teams will be invited to attend the 2026 AI Fest Opening Ceremonies and the SineAI Film Screening on August 3, 2026.
